Practical days, something I want to share

long time no post (via laptop) the latest post i used my blackberry. man it was harder than i thought, with all those tiny letter buttons and to make those paragraphs, tired just tired. *sigh*

okay now i would like to show some of the people i know and got to know in the hotel i went to do my practical. which is Grand Blue Wave Hotel. okay let's start with the ladies first. here we have Kak anis. the girl who thought us mostly what to do in the malay kitchen and bought us to the halls and all.

okay next we'll move on to the girl who always next to me. since we're in the same kitchen and she loves korean songs too. meet me gal Kina aka Kak cik. that name was given by Abg Rizal because Kina seemed to be the smallest among us. Hehe dont worry kina, kecik itu comel :)

now it's time for the boys! okay firstly i would like to introduce all of you to Abang Rizal. He's one of the most kind and helpful chefs in the Malay kitchen. He's the Demi-chef. He taught us so many things even from scratch. he's also someone who is easy to talk to. like to listen when he talks about his experience, his family, lovelife and all. it's fun to share stories made us understand each others way of life. here he is ! sorry didn't get a clear picture of him.

he's the one who taught us how to make rendang ayam. although i knew how but this is new. I also dont know how to cook for big portions before. now i know a bit , thanks abg rizal! :)

Okay here comes the funny part. *LOL*

Abg Rizal and kak Anis teamed up and tease me with this guy. and now kina joined the group and start to tease me too! Yahhh~ he's name is Luqman and we call him Man. He's the Commis in the kitchen. He's also helpful. never gets mad on us (for now) haha.

Haa ni lah dia Man. Got his phone number during this time and straightly ask to take his picture to save at the contact details. he was shy i guess, that's why there's the cup there *LOL* mann mann *geleng kepala*

#Day1 - Orientation

Akhirnya saat yang di nanti nanti telah tiba. Hari pertama myra menjalani latihan praktikal, yahoo ! Mau tak happy nya. Okay first day ni diorg tak terus humban myra dalam dapur, instead diorg letakkan myra kat satu bilik bersama rakan rakan untuk dengar taklimat dari staff Human Resource kat situ. For today we have Kak Kharidah (i think thats her name)

Dia bagi talk pasal peraturan dalam kawasan hotel, grooming, cuti (favorit), and OT. Mhmm dengarnya kalau OT gaji lumayan, tapi depends on kerajinan myra lah. Ni orientasi pun dah pancit macam ape. haihhh.

Mieza komba den bersama pak cik wan ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ~

Taklimatnya menyeronokkan tapi myra ni takleh kene aircond lama lama. Mula lah ngantuk. tersengguk sengguk mase dalam bilik tu tadi. Mujur ade mieza tolong urut kan bahu myra kasi hilang ngantuk. Thanks twin ! Haha. That's me. Kalau dalam exam pun myra bleh tido, ape tah lagi bilik? Hikhikhik. Haa lepastu today berjaya tegur Daiyan ! kawan sekolah rendah myra tuuu. Satu klas lagi, nama kelas kitorg 1 Fatanah, kelas budak pandai *keningkening*

After dah habis semua minum dengan diorg kat Barra. Daiyan and kawan dia turut serta. Penang and Dungun bergabung? Hahha. That's all folks, ngantuk dah. wait for my update on the 2nd day ! :D

Interview and FHM 2011; tiring day,

ASSALAMUALAIKUM

This was one of the tiring days of my life. it started with my interview at Grand Blue Wave, Shah Alam which started at 10.15am. We waited since 8am, good thing my mom was there and brought us for breakfast while waiting for the interview to start. We went through the purchasing area and the interview was done in the staff cafeteria area. Isn't that nice -.-" Ones who went for the interview are Mieza, Haniff, Farr, Jo, Kak eija(accompanying me) and myself. 

After the interview we planned to go to FHM2011. We met Farep at PKNS. Jo gave us a ride and went to pick up wan in Klang. Man we were like sardine in the car. 5 girls all at the back and when he hit a bump our heads will be bumped as well. Haha. Then we felt hungry and Jo recommended the Chinese muslim spot at Tesco Extra. He said that the soup there was delicious. Well guess what? I have been that uncle noodle soup freak since I was in highschool and had it pack for me during SPM. I was so fond of his homemade noodles. nomnom!

Done eating and solat, we went straight to Batu 3 KTM station. Since it was the first for Mieza and Wan, they kept asking question at Farep. Poor her. But it's fun to see people get excited and curious about the public transport route. It made the trip interesting. When we safely arrived at KLCC, we went straight to The convention hall and we got stuck just infront of the entrance to hall 6. Man we were pissed. This guy, the guard didn't let us go in because we were students and he asked us to wait till 4.30pm. 

We keep it cool and waited. then when the time comes we approached the entrance and he still wouldn't let us in. after moments of frustration, we almost decided to go back home when a lady pass through us and asked us if we are students. I thought of refusing so we could get in, but I ended up telling her the truth and she asked us if we have the code to enter. I told her that we all have the code. then she said "why didn't you said so? Come on in. Don't cry," Gosh when she said don't cry my tears was about to drop. Thank God I hold it in.

After window shopping and testing food and drinks here and there, we decided to end the trip. went to solat at the surau and went home after maghrib. Wan was almost fully asleep in the Commuter. and my oh my we were all standing and couldn't stable ourselves since some of us wore heels. That must have hurt. yikes !

Anyways, it was a great day after all. Enjoyed it so much ! Thanks to everyone, XOXO :3

Dinner D'hoteliers Arabian Night 2011

Last night was one of the best D'hoteliers annual dinner because everything was done well. As assigned, I was placed in the pastry team under 2 Demi Chefs, Farrah Aishah and Fizi. All the effort for staying up making cookies was worth it. The pastry team might not be as tired as the main course and appetizers team but we start earlier. I mean way earlier. I'm glad that none of the guest got any food poisoning and such.

I have not much to say but I'm pretty happy that last night turned out fabulous. Especially to team Republic De Culinaire (RDC). It's your last semester and I hope you guys will keep these memories forever. Good luck for your practical next semester RDC and Culinarians !  I love you all :D

The Good News,

Hari ni sangat best best and best ! Penat kitchen pun tak rasa sangat. Dari awal kelas sampai habis duk sengih macam ape je. Myra happy sangat sebab dapat berita baik dari Grand Blue Wave Shah Alam. Well actually the real story goes out like this. Mase saya dan twin (mieza) sedang parut kelapa dalam kelas, Farr kawan kitorg dari kelas sebelah mintak izin masuk kitchen kitorg. And dr jauh dah nampak dia sengih sengih.

Dan dan dia datang peluk myra. Myra dengan muka blur nya tertanya tanya. 

Farr : myra I dapat practical kat Blue Wave !!!!

Myra : Wahh congrats to you,

Farr : And orang tu kata kawan awak yang nama ummairah and amieza tu di terima juga untuk practical dekat blue wave. Best kan ?

Myra & Mieza : HAH? serious? YEAYYYY! *hughug*

Farr : Okay bye !

Myra & Mieza : Bye ! *senyum sampai ke telinga* HAHA

Okay ni lah good news nya tu. Tak sangka berkat doa dapat practical kat situ. Alhamdulillah ! Tadi dapat call dr Steam, kesian dia. Dengar cite hotel kat Lumut budak Pinang ramai dah balun. Blue Wave pulak dia salah kan kitorg sebab penuhkan list sampai nama dia tak leh nak selit haha. Sorry steam, ladies first :P Kau doa lah byk byk mase bulan puasa ni eh? mana tau dapat somewhere lg best :)

Assignment Account ; STRESSED !

Tonight I'm feeling so depressed. well it has been on going for 2 weeks now. I have lack of sleep since I have to get my accounting assignment done by 16th August and seriously it is not easy. doing the transactions was still okay but trying to balance it was D I F F I C U L T ! We did it over several times but still couldn't get it right. So now we just type it all and hoping for extra 1-2 days to submit this assignment. I don't want to gain 6% over 10% when I can't get good night sleep trying to finish it.

And Kak Atin have been sleeping in my room for 2 days now. She is the first and I have a feeling she'd be the last because none of my friends want to come to my room. Well I don't mind tho. I love privacy anyways. Hoho.

Okay need to go back to type all of this account stuff. will be posting later, Toodles !

The Surprise !

ASSALAMUALAIKUM ,

Yesterday was my birthday (5th August) and the day before yesterday was my serving day (4th August). I volunteer to be one of the steward since steward is strongly needed for buffet classes. It was tiring I tell ya. washing, wiping, stacking chinawares. loads of em !

Towards the end, we will have some feast of the leftover food from the buffet. I sat next to Haikal, Madam Ayu's eldest son. Suddenly I saw Steam put his hand on the light switch. then the lights starts to dim bit by bit. I thought to myself that it might be for me, my birthday. But not to put my hopes too high I just kept quiet. 

Then they start singing "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Ummairah, Happy Birthday to you!" I saw a light from the back and it was kak eija and suha, holding the cake with my name on it that says 'Happy Birthday Myra, Saranghaeyo!!' I was speechless and my heart was thumping hard that I want to cry. But I held it all in. It's a happy event and it was specially made for me. I shouldn't turn it down.

After blowing 4-5 candles the lights went back on. Then Encik Bob swipe some aoili dressing on my tudung. OMG it smell so like garlic *yucks* we snap some pictures of cutting the cake. It was one of the best birthday present ever ! everyone was there and I can share the beautiful moments with them. Thanks a bunch to Kak Eija and Suha for the cake and plans. I LOVE YOU GIRLS ! :D HAMYJA 

2nd place for N.A.N.I

mesti korang tertanya tanya ape tu N.A.N.I kan? N.A.N.I tu maksudnya New Art & Invention. game ni tersenarai dalam aktiviti untuk Y-Entrec, event yang di handle oleh pelajar UiTM Dungun. Cara nak perticipate untuk NANI ni kita kene lukis atas kasut atau baju yang disediakan. So basically kene otak kreatif lah kn. Aku ni pulak kalau bab bab melukis atas kasut memeng hobi.

Serious rindu mase highschool. lukis kasut dengan TajulAdz, Anis, Dhaus and Iezah tolong jualkan kat KL. ter haru sebab laris semua jualan. siap ade yg nk order tapi too bad kitorg tak terima sebab nak SPM. harus study bahhh. padahal result aku pun macam tak study je. Hoho.

Okay back to NANI, haa aku kene pilih kasut on that day. tengok tengok memang takde satu pun lah size aku kan, so aku pun offer kat suha utk birthday present dia sebab birthday dia paling dekat. After dah pilih tu, aku pun start lah melukis. thanks sangat sangat kat Kak eija and Suha sebab sanggup teman and tunggu kita siapkan kasut tu. kalau nak diikutkan, aku siapkan design kasut tu dalam masa 1 jam. kurang 1jam dari trial aku mase guna kasut steam. maybe sebab steam punya lagi detail tu yg lama :)

Anyways, Alhamdulillah akhirnya dapa no.2. Rezeki bila bila Allah boleh bagi. kadang kadang tanpa kita duga. Cuma rugi tak dpt kenal juara plus nk tengok kasut dia. for sure smart sangat. Congrats to whoever you are bro ! you did well ! :)

Duty as Bartender, SUCCESS !

Semalam petang adalah kelas serving. Tema yang ditetapkan untuk minggu ni ialah Bistro. which is Ala Carte. Ala Carte ni style dia makanan tak ikut flow. guest boleh mintak makanan pada bila bila masa and berapa banyak yang dia nak. tapi harga dah ditetapkan utk setiap satu makanan. so kalau byk order, mahal lah jd nya. 

Untuk kelas serving bistro ni, SOD kitorang iaitu Steam mintak semua 80% attire in black sebab 20% untuk apron warna putih. aku yang takde kemeja hitam ni duk lah mintak sini sana. Alhamdulillah Tini (Group D) pinjam kan kemeja dia. sayang tini ! bila sampai aku terus touch up make up and tight in baju plus pkai apron. lupa nak snap gmbar attire smalam. haihh menyesal pulak. 

haa and nak bgtau korang, aku dapat jadi bartender! finally! sebab jd bartender untuk bistro hanya boleh sekali je 1 sem. and I'm feeling so lucky ! Beverages yang dioffer untuk guest semalam ialah Float, Sunset Paradise and TGIF (Thank God It's Friday). aku paling suka minum SP sebab juice, tapi aku enjoy buat TGIF sebab warna PINK ! hehe. tengok ni tengok ni, comel tak ? :P

We Finally Have Guests !

Today was my 2nd week of Food and Beverage Service class and as mentioned by our adorable lecturer madam Ayu, we will be expecting guests. as the host, quteeq and I are in charge for greeting the guests. that means we weill be the 1st person to meet the guests face to face. my fingers got cold all of the sudden when I saw the guests outside talking with Madam Ayu.

Everyone was being busy when I seated the guests. but I have to say the dessert was splendid and the food in overall. maybe the tenderloin is slightly medium rare but everything besides that was okay. there were too many of us so Mock Restaurant seemed to look a bit crowdy but i like it. it's something that we couldn't overcome but the experience and skills that we want. hope this semester will be a splendid one for HMD3CE&F ;D

Briefly explain the day was entertaining! especially the comments given by the seniors. thanks for the encouraging comments. hope to see/serve you guys more in the near future!

Am I Just Unlucky?

everywhere I go, everyone is mentioning about college. I was one of those unlucky ones who didn't get college. If i was a Bussiness student, i don't mind going back late alone. Because the latest time to be back would be 10.30pm. but I'm a Culinary Arts student, and my kitchen will be on thursday night which will end at 11.30pm the earliest.

how could you expect me to go back alone in the dark with the van kunyit? don't you think it's dangerous for a girl be going home like that? Zurah's house is full already, and now i have to find another house. why am I so unlucky? I want to stay in the campus. this is just not fair. not fair ! 

On My Way Home !

today was my last paper , MKT243 and mann i tell ya. it's so hard. I remembered about the Corporate Service Responsibilities (CSR) points but i forgot about the meanings and all. luckily i had the skills to write with my own words. only Allah knows how wierd was my sentence. hopefully MissG will not suffer from a massive headache because of me. 

okay now let's forget about exams and let's focus on my way home story.

okay malas pulak nak taip. (takut kene marah sekali) besok je lah sambung. buhbye dearies ! have a safe journey home to all DCA Part 2 students ;)

Aku Terkena !

ASSALAMUALAIKUM

okay, hari ni aku terasa nak post dalam bahasa melayu sebab ade satu tragedi yang jadi semalam yang membuat aku sangat TERUJA !

semalam aku pergi ke bilik anak pak cik Jais atas dasar study dan masalah dengan roommate aku. jangan tanya ape masalahnya. cukup sensitif untuk di beritahu. scaryy nyahhh! okay berbalik pada tajuk kita hari ni, semalam malam anak pak Jais dan aku terasa nak minum air teh O. so kitorang pun bawalah sebuah tumbler dan uncang teh BOH ke tingkat dua (water cooler tingkat 3 duyung B tak sejuk!).

then anak pak Jais ni pun nak lah basuh tumbler ni sebab ade bekas air orange juice semalam. dia pun curah kan lah air panas kedalam tumbler tersebut, tutup dan mula menggoncangkannya. sambil sambil menggoncang kitorg pun berbual lah. tak sampai 10 saat, penutup tumbler tu tercampak dan air panas pun tersimbah lalu cecah pada kaki ku.

kalau korang kenal tuan punya handphone ni, dia lah anak pak Jais ! XD

aku dengan terkejutnya melatah lah macam biasa. "eh B*** KAU!" then anak pak jais pun  tergelak gelak sebab teringat kisah meletup anak pak usop punya kawan. sambil mintak maaf , dia pun gelak gelak tgk aku. aku dengan muka yang blur cakap "tak pe tak pe, tak sakit pun," (padahal dalam hati sakit lah jugak).

lama lama sakit tu pun hilang. nasib baik aku pakai seluar yang agak tebal. so takdelah nak melecur sangat peha aku. PHEW!


p/s : it's okay anak pak Jais, kaki saya tak melecur pun haha :D

Pastry Final 2011,

ASSALAMUALAIKUM

2 days back was my pastry final and let me tell you that it wasn't as pleasant as  I thought it would be. at first my lecturer said that he will cancel 2 items that was supposed to be for the final and that is soft roll and puff pastry. I can see the disappointment in Nas eyes. I pity him. so that means the only thing that we'll be doing is Bavarian. not just any bavarian, we had to do Charlotte Royal.

there were so many complications during the process. Not in the mood to let it out here. but overall I'm OKAY with my product. honestly saying that it's NOT THAT GOOD. but still acceptable *I guess*

the sauce was not thick enough, it spreads -,-

let's pray that I'll get what I aim for.

Teluk Bidara ; HMD2CE&F Gathering

last weekend my classmates and I went to Teluk Bidara for our group gathering. from my previous post, I already went to Teluk Bidara once and that was last semester with my ex-roommates. It is a nice place to hangout but beware of the beach ! because it is very shallow and dangerous. many people went missing too because of the strong tide -,- I'm just thankful that all of us went home safely.

Last week after Food science class, Steam called me.

me : haa kenapa?

steam : kau boleh tlg aku buat keychain tu lg tak?

me : ohh, haa nak bentuk ape?

steam : kau buat couple boleh? ginger bread man. alaa yang cookies tu (nada steam)

me : uish, susah tu. ade small pieces. tapi aku try buat lah (seronok cuba bende baru)

steam : okay, thanks weyy !

so I made it for him. wonder's who is it for? woot woot ! only steam knows :D

on the 27th of march, my classmates and I made a selling event called Selling Frenzy'. it was a new experience for us all. this project was under our MKT243. and we've learned how to handle customers and such. my group were selling felt products and we named our stall as LOVEART.

Corporate Diamond, D'hotelliers

last night (1/4/2011) was D'hotelliers UiTM Dungun's Annual Dinner. everyone was so anxious to buy new dress clothes, suits for the event. I on the other hand planned to wear my plain abstract pattern baju kurung. I know my clothe doesn't suit the occasion but I choose to be like that. I want to save my vogue-ness for my final D'hotelliers Dinner and that will be on 2012. mann i can't wait for it !

I was so simple till i had no make up on, at first. then Ya, zura's roommate asked me to put some mascara on. I didn't know what to say and just agree to it. and ofcourse she help me with it. honestly i know nothing about make up. i tried to put on some blusher on my ex-roommates and it end up with a blushy red cheek. sorry kak faizun -,-

so this is how I look like. I know I AIN'T GOT ANY BLINGS ! but still i have my brooch. HEHE ;D
